A vile superhero with 0 recognize for ethics, the law, or almost about any code of habits? That's The Homelander in a nutshell. 

The antagonist of The Boys embodies everything standard comic book characters like Superman or Captain America combat against. From acts of sexual abuse to murdering the vice president of the U.S., there is nothing the vile criminal would not do. 

So, it's no wonder some fanatics are eagerly looking forward to his dying on display screen. How does he die in the comic book series? 

The Homelander dies a grisly dying in the original 'The Boys' comic series.

A a very powerful quantity of the comic book series, "The Innocents," plunges The Homelander into a kind of disaster even he feels fazed by. 

After receiving a few pictures that display him carrying out the maximum sickening crimes fathomable, The Homelander finds himself in the midst of an excruciating mental well being crisis. 

Why? Alas, he doesn't remember committing any of the acts proven. Unable to figure out how the footage may have been made, he starts to question his perception of truth.

According to Fandom, the discovery eventually leads The Homelander to rise up to much more odious deeds. As to his maximum apocalyptic act? Drunk on a potent mix of sadism and megalomania, The Homelander comes to a decision to hijack a Christian conference for superheroes and fanatics, and recruit a bunch of people keen to battle for Vought-America, a group opposing the U.S. govt and the military. 

"Over the Hill with the Swords of a Thousand Men" revolves around the coup d'etat he orchestrates. In it, The Homelander leads his staff of superhero recruits to invade the White House, before proceeding to decapitate Vic the Veep, the former CEO of Vought and the vice chairman of the U.S. 

However, his victory is short-lived. He is soon joined by his lifelong nemesis, Billy Butcher, and the mysterious Black Noir. The latter seizes the rare opportunity to take away his mask — and disclose that he was once cloned after The Homelander.

The revelation comes as a huge surprise to everyone in the room. The Homelander doesn't have to query his sanity any further or try to string in combination a coherent rationalization for the way he committed the horrid crimes. What's extra, it also helps him refute the long-standing allegation that it was he who raped and killed Billy Butcher's spouse. 

Unfortunately, the tale doesn't end all that smartly. Having learned that he used to be repenting for the hideous deeds committed by Black Noir all along, The Homelander best sees one suitable reaction to the big unveiling. 

The two start a vicious struggle, and Black Noir is the one to come out successful. He murders The Homelander on the spot, letting him bleed out in The Oval Office. 

Fortunately, however, Billy Butcher is ready to show the scenario round and take much-needed revenge on Black Noir for gravely harming his spouse — and he manages to kill him. Meanwhile, the rest of the crew is dispersed by the U.S. army. 

Season 2 of The Boys arrives on Amazon Prime Video on Friday, Sept. 4.
