Scottie Scheffler and His Wife Meredith Have Lots to Celebrate Despite His Arrest

It’s truthful to say that May 2024 has been a life-changing month for pro golfer Scottie Scheffler and his wife Meredith. In addition to creating international information over an unfortunate incident with local legislation enforcement, Scottie and Meredith had way bigger issues on their minds than an early morning visitors jam.

As the top-rated golfer on this planet, Scottie recently did one thing that may exchange his entire existence and his wife's future too. It has nothing to do with riding, either on the direction or at the highway.

Scottie Scheffler and his wife Meredith have been highschool sweethearts.

Meredith Scudder and Scottie Sheffler met at Highland Park High School. The couple graduated in 2014 and have been in combination ever since. In a February 2022 profile in Golf Digest, Meredith said, “At the start of highschool I always concept he had a really perfect humble ambiance about him, that he was only a truly down-to-earth man that doesn’t take himself too significantly. Even when he had amazing accomplishments, that wasn’t the most important factor about him."

Following high school, the two dated throughout college. Scottie attended the University of Texas and Meredith went to Texas A&M. Both of them graduated in 2018. They got engaged in June 2020 and married on Dec. 4, 2020.

Do Scottie and Meredith have any kids?

Nearly four years after saying “I do,” Scottie and Meredith recently welcomed their first child into the world. The AP reported the two became parents to baby boy Bennett on May 8, 2024. Five days later on May 13, 2024, Scottie shared a photo on his Instagram account of him holding the newborn with the caption, “Welcome to the world little one. Your mom and dad love you so much.”

Scottie talked about missing the 2024 Masters if Meredith happened to go into labor. Speaking with a broadcaster about whether he'd stay or go if the child was imminent, The Augusta Chronicle reported the golfer said, "I'll be out of right here. I think first child wins over slightly a... over many things in my existence."

Speaking of winning, Scottie won the 2024 Masters, but he was more excited about becoming a dad. Talking with Golf Digest, he said, "It’s going to be pretty wild. I don’t assume it’s hit either people somewhat yet nevertheless it’s a thrilling time for us as a circle of relatives. It’s been an attractive thrilling closing seven months or so and we’re looking ahead to hopefully getting the newborn out of there nice and wholesome and with a healthy momma, and then we’ll pass from there."

Four days after sharing the baby news, Scottie was arrested on his way to the second round of the PGA Championship at Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville when a prior unrelated incident led to a police zone of interest blocking Scottie’s route. That story is still developing, with the arraignment postponed to June 3. The golfer faces fees of second-degree assault of a police officer, third-degree criminal mischief, reckless driving, and disregarding indicators from an officer directing visitors.
