In this night's episode of 'Grey's Anatomy,' Derek and Meredith speak about Amelia's baby's name, and Derek says he is aware of it. But what is it?

This week, on Grey's Anatomy, Meredith is most commonly in her COVID coma. While enthusiasts thought this could be the episode she both wakes up, or makes a decision to offer into her sickness and be with Derek, the latter in any case came about. As much as we are not looking for Meredith to die (particularly now not from COVID, as a result of come on), it does appear especially romantic to have Meredith die to be along with her real love. Neither occur, and Meredith is still on that seashore, which is in truth just making us crave a holiday.

During her coma time with Derek, they discuss Amelia, Derek's sister. He asks her about Amelia and Link's baby, the one that was once born after Derek had died. Derek says he knows the baby's name, but the name isn't in truth uttered all the way through the episode. 

What did Amelia name her baby?

Turns out, we already know the answer. Amelia determined to name her baby boy Scout Derek Shepherd Lincoln, probably considered one of the most meaningful names in tv history. "Scout" is a nod towards Link's real name (which is Atticus), in addition to a literary reference to To Kill a Mockingbird. And Derek is, in fact, after Amelia's brother with whom she had a in point of fact close relationship.

Fans desperately wanted Amelia to name her baby after her overdue brother, however showrunner Krista Vernoff close it down. "I will tell you that the name is not Derek," she told The Hollywood Reporter, including, "I'll give you that the line in [Episode 22, which never ended up getting filmed, thanks to COVID] about Derek was that Link pitched it and Amelia said, 'I don't want to cry every time I look at my baby, so no.'"

Fans had been extraordinarily glad when they found out Amelia's baby's name, because it was once actually the perfect compromise.

And as for Amelia and Link's courting, it's still no longer clear if they're going to get married or now not. Link does almost propose to her after she breaks down in tears (after Link's parents consult with her as their daughter-in-law), however Amelia is not crying because she and Link aren't married. She's crying because this is the first time she's gotten to be on my own and can fully categorical her grief.

Amelia still does not know if she's the form of person who would do well in a marriage, even though Link says he'd marry her in a heartbeat. Link tries again and Amelia says, “Not once I’m confessing my darkest secrets and I've snot dripping down my face!” Amelia and Link love each and every other, but maybe marriage does not must be where they end up.  You can love a person and no longer marry them.

After all, they have got candy baby Scout together.
