Distractify: What do you are feeling was probably the most challenging side of Alone?

Juan Pablo Quiñonez: I have no idea ... I don't feel like I were given to the purpose the place, like, I'm actually, actually suffering. But I think that was because I just ready mentally. I used to be just so invested in it, that it's more or less like when you really need one thing and if you find yourself actually into one thing, it isn't as laborious. Like, for instance, I sought after to be a soldier and I did elementary coaching. And for me, it wasn't as exhausting because it was once kind of my dream. So this is similar, like, it's always been my dream to be out in the barren region. So yeah, it was exhausting. It's exhausting to pinpoint something ... being constrained to a piece of land that used to be not my opting for, that used to be mentally very arduous. ... It was laborious for me to peer the opposite side of the river where [there may be] extra daylight and a lot more like accessibility to walking and such things as that.

DFY: What do you suppose used to be the most efficient tactical resolution that you made that can be helped your recreation over one of the most different competitors?

JPQ: The highest tactical choice ... for me was once not like, 'Oh, I'm gonna see what the land has to teach me.' For me, it used to be now not a religious journey because I've already had those trips. It used to be more about, OK, I'm simply gonna do it, give it my all. I'm simply going to place as a lot effort as I will be able to into it. But on the similar time, I used to be by no means attached to my plans. I used to be at all times being tremendous flexible and adapting to the situation.

JPQ: Before entering into, I if truth be told concept like, 'OK, what occurs if I'm in a low moment?' So despite the fact that I wish to tap [out], I'm just gonna wait three days and see once more, after the ones 3 days, see if I want to faucet [out]. ... Instead of bringing a photograph of my family or my important other, I simply had a photograph of like, a couple of children suffering all over the Holocaust. So, I [had] my plans for that second. But ... it by no means ever even befell to me like, 'Oh, can I? Can I am going on additional? Or am I gonna faucet [out]?'

And I honestly assume that that is also a part of why individuals are engaged [with] the display. Because they wish to give their very own opinions. ... But I noticed that we simplest see such a small fraction of what occurs available in the market. So I am more not going to [now] make the ones feedback. ... It's simply unexpected how a lot occurs available in the market that would possibly not make it to the show.

DFY: Can you describe the instant while you noticed your partner and realized that you won?

JPQ: You're so attuned on your atmosphere and your mind [is] playing tricks. But the staff would describe me as a hawk. Like, I'd sense these kinds of issues. So I more or less sensed that possibly Jennifer was once there. ... I was trying to keep an eye on myself and not think about that [I'd just won]. There's so much power as a result of there is most of these cameras and yeah, it took a moment [to understand I'd gained] and I in truth was a bit of bit dehydrated that I didn't be expecting the scientific take a look at to occur that day at all. So the whole thing was once simply tremendous, tremendous surprising.

DFY: After winning Alone, what can be your piece of advice for future contestants?

JPQ: My piece of advice would be, know what you need to get out of the experience, like in point of fact, in point of fact know why you are there. And have that like, very simply available, for the moments when you find yourself suffering or the moments where you will have challenges which are surprising or no matter, just return to why you're there.
